Knee ligament surgery, often performed to repair the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), reconstructs or repairs torn ligaments in the knee. Ligament injuries often occur during high-impact sports or activities and result in instability, pain, and limited mobility. During surgery, the damaged ligament is either sutured or replaced with a graft made from the patient's or a donor's tissue. This procedure restores stability to the knee joint, allowing for better mobility and reducing the risk of further injury, thereby improving athletic performance and daily activities after recovery.
